Pregnancy reflexology is a specialised form of reflexology adapted for expectant mothers. Based on the same principles as the other forms of reflexology, that specific points on the feet, hands, or ears correspond to different organs, systems, and parts of the body. By applying gentle, targeted pressure to these points, our therapist will aim to stimulate the body’s natural balance, promote relaxation, and support overall wellbeing during pregnancy. Treatments are adapted to suit each stage of pregnancy, ensuring comfort and safety for both mother and baby.
A pregnancy reflexology session typically last 45-60 minutes. You will be seated in a reclined chair or laying on a massage bed slightly raised with support pillows for comfort. We will work mainly on your feet, using gentle pressure and soothing movements, focusing on reflex points relevant to pregnancy health and relaxation. We’ll ensure you feel comfortable throughout, by adapting the pressure to suit your needs.
Pregnancy reflexology is generally considered safe for most healthy pregnancies when carried out by a qualified practitioner. As a fully qualified reflexologists I will avoid certain pressure points during pregnancy and adapt techniques to ensure safety and comfort.
